Of Newark, DE passed away peacefully on Monday January 15, 2007, at the age of 74. Al was born and raised in Woodstock, VA., the son of the late Garlan S. and Margaret M. Bradfield and has made Newark his home for the past 54 years. He was a longtime member of the Elkton Church of God, and after retiring Al volunteered many hours at The Food Bank of Delaware. Al worked as a machine operator and set-up man for Motor Wheel Corporation in Newark for 22 years until the plant was closed in 1981. He then worked in the shipping department at Avon, and Delaware Office Equipment. He retired from working in 1994. Al will be dearly missed by his family; beloved wife of almost 50 years, Iva G.L. Bradfield; sons Eugene R. Bradfield of Fair Hill, MD and Jeffrey G. Bradfield of Newark; daughter Elizabeth S. Luther and her husband Dean of Anderson, SC; his 6 loving grandchildren, John, Kimberly, Alexander, Kathryn Bradfield, and Eric and Jonathan Luther; brothers Garlan L. Bradfield, Jr. of Woodstock, VA and Charles D. Bradfield of Jacksonville, FL; and sister Phyllis L. Wetzel of Woodstock, VA. Family and friends are invited to Als Life Celebration viewing and visitation with his family on Thursday January 18, 2007 from 6 to 8 pm at BEESON FUNERAL HOME OF NEWARK, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Fox Run, (302)453-1900, and again on Friday morning from 10 to 11am at the funeral home. His funeral service will be at 11 am. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.
